Maggie Finds New Freedom with the RS-4i® Plus
“Quite honestly, after I retired, I gave into my pain. It got to be too much for me.”
These are the words from Maggie, a Veteran and former Army paratrooper who served in the 82nd Airborne. She recounts some of the training instances that led to her pain.
“We needed to get our jumps in, and I think the winds were a bit too high,” she recalls. “I’ll never forget that jump. I had my knees up, and I’ll never forget just being slammed right on my back.”
An Endless Cycle of Invasive Pain Treatments
Maggie experienced pain on a daily basis as a result of her time serving in the military. After retiring, she turned to the VA for help.
“I was doing cortisone injections and steroid injections in my neck. And they would go into the back, and they would burn off the nerves,” she says. “But nerves grow back, so that just became a routine.”
Electrotherapy Treatment Finally Helped
After speaking to her healthcare practitioner, she was prescribed an RS-4i Plus. She was also introduced to the RS-LBG low-back garment and RS-FBG full-back garment, which are designed to simplify taking back treatments at home.
“They brought those out, and I thought I’ll try it,” she says.
Adding a garment to back therapy sessions saves time because patients don’t need to place the pads one-by-one every time. Pads are placed inside the garment the first time, and then they’re ready for follow-up sessions. Just change the pads every 30 days.
“If you have other units, look at the difference. Look at how many channels there are,” she says. “You are hitting all your spots.”
By this, Maggie means that the RS-4i Plus is a 4-channel device that allows patients to use 8 electrode pads. The significance of a 4-channel device is that it offers larger anatomical coverage than 2-channel devices – giving the patient gets twice the area of therapeutic treatment.
As for the pain relief, she says “It was amazing!”
Newfound Relief That’s Free from Medications
“I’m not a big painkiller person, so I didn’t want to go that route,” Maggie says. “I am so fortunate that I was introduced to this system. I’m going to get addicted to this system.”
