A closer look at the mechanisms of action

Afferent Nerves – Fast-acting & long-lasting pain relief through high-frequency interferential stimulation

It is a widely accepted scientific principle that a higher frequency can more easily overcome resistance.

Which is why the RS-4i Plus uses two sets of high-frequency sine waves to penetrate and resonate deep into tissue – getting closer to a patient’s source of pain. Watch this brief video to see more detail about how the science works.

A high-frequency signal is just one important quality that differentiates the RS-4i Plus from standard over-the-counter TENS devices.

Efferent Nerves – Comprehensive muscle fiber stimulation via pulse width control

Now see how the RS-4i Plus controls the width of the NMES waveform to stimulate a wider range of muscle fibers – from faster-twitch to slower-twitch fibers. This brief video shows how.

Realize that having two powerful treatment options – interferential therapy and NMES muscle stimulation – available in a single device also makes the RS-4i Plus unlike other TENS units.

It’s also highly advanced in how easy it is for patients to use at home, anytime they feel pain. Maybe it’s time your patients felt the relief for themselves.

After a month of RS-4i Plus utilization, RS Medical follows up with the Veteran to document progress employing the DVPRS

One-on-one patient instruction – the personal touch, even when conducted virtually

Individualized patient care is paramount to clinical success, especially when patients receive durable medical equipment intended to be used at home. RS Medical provides one-on-one patient instruction to every Veteran – either in-person at a clinic or remotely via video conference. This personal instruction helps produce a higher rate of compliance, a positive product experience and better clinical outcomes without burdening your medical staff.

RS Medical’s patient instruction sessions include:

  • Product customization to the patient’s clinical diagnosis and body shape.

  • Demonstration of how to use the product, including setup and battery charging.

  • A summary of the clinical benefits of using the product.

  • For stimulators: common electrode pad placement guidance, pad care tips and resupply instructions.

As an added advantage, questions about the device, wearables, usage or warranty may be directed to and handled by RS Medical Customer Service, not by your medical staff.

Take the next step

To refresh what you know about the RS-4i Plus, complete the form below and check the webinar box to sign up for an online educational session being hosted on Thursday, August 6 at 9:30am PT / 12:30pm ET. During this 20-minute presentation, you’ll be able to review the technology that makes the RS-4i Plus different. Don’t miss the chance to join fellow VA healthcare colleagues in learning how the high-frequency interferential waveform of the RS-4i Plus can more effectively penetrate tissue than a standard, low-frequency TENS signal.

If you’re interested in getting a summary of the assessments that show how the RS-4i Plus worked for your patients, check the box below to request this as well. It’s a way to re-examine the results that the combination of interferential therapy and muscle stimulation can deliver.
